The research needs of the Wholesale and retail sector in South Africa is presently being investigated . The results will serve as a guideline for future research. Early indications are that research will probably focus on skill shortages, the legal framework impacting the industry directly, the labour situation, internationalization of the industry and specifically the move into Africa, informal and SMME retailers and E-tailing.
